The PC Prog has a prime function, try this a few times.
This keeps the glow plug active for quite a while, the idear being if the glow plug has 'gunked' up the prime function should burn off the gunk.
A lot of smoke may be produced when this function is used.
If when you use this function hardly any smoke is produced you have either no/low fuel flow or the glow plug is not able to get hot enough.
Ian
PS remember that the fuel pump is run via PWM and putting 12v across it could damage it. ..so what can I fiddle with today that ain't broken ...?

Fuel is there, as I get heat, but it just wont continue to a full burn, only a startup burn.
If I prime the fuel pump for 10 seconds, then run a cycle, I get an almighty amount of smoke, as it burns off.
How much fuel should come through if I set it to 4Hz? I get a steady stream, but no jets of fuel. does this seem right amount? This is If i take the pipe off from the FBH.

I have run the glowplug on its own for 100% duty for 60 seconds a couple of times. the flame detector shows a reading of 1.11 ohms when it gets to its maximum.
In fact, I am just running a long burn on it now, and am still getting smoke coming out of the air intake after 3 mins.
Just now going to run another burn cycle to see if that helps.

No, still no go.
As the fuel pump ramps up its delivery to nearly its maximum, 4.5hz, the FD light lights up ( the red one) then the flame detector ohms climb up to 0.92 ohms and it shuts down.
Am I thinking that the flame detector ohms need to lower as the unit goes into full burn, cos that is what is not happening. As the unit gets hotter, the ohms go up , but then it shuts down.
WTF is going on??

After clearing blockage on mine , it was just a steady dribble not a squirt.
early on in this tread someone took pic's of the program and what reading there should be have a flick through IF YOU GET YOUR D3 STUCK TRY ONE OF THESE

Yeah, looked at that, which is why I flummuxed as to what readings I'm getting from the flame detector.
It starts the glow plug to get a reading of 0.9 ohms, then fires the fuel pump at about 1.75 hz for a bit, then the FD reading goes to about 0.86ohms, but then as the pump put more fuel in and the combustion fan increases, the FD ohms increase up to 0.92-0.95. all the while, the glow plug is on at about 50%.
Then the Glow plug switches off, ( this is where it determines if everything is ok with the burn, I guess )and it immediately shuts the fuel off and goes into FD cooling mode.( I reckon, because the FD reading is too high at that point and it thinks something is wrong.)
If the FD reading too high, cos its still full of C P, or is there not enough fuel/air getting in, which means the chamber isnt hot enough for it to carry on?
BTW, Why, when the FD cools, does the reading then go down? surely the reading cant go down when the chamber is in full burn, but also go down when everything is shutting down and its now cooling the FD.

Read somewhere that if you blow down the intake on start up it will fire up and keep going.
Other than that make sure all faults are clear'd before each try
I am now out of suggestions
