| I just got the Nitto Terra Grapplers and Have no Rubbing |
|
The 285/60 R18 Nitto's are working great for me so far. Just got them this week. No rubbing in access height or normal road height with hard cornering. Just ticked that the Disc. tire guys scratched the *%$ out of one of my wheels. I have pics in my gallery.
Ride On!

Discount tire will replace your wheel. Call and explain it to the manager. They had to replace all the lug nuts on my D2 because they rounded off the aluminum caps with the wrong size socket.

I'm running the Mickey Thompson ATZ 275/65-18 with no rubbing - they're just fine!
The TDv6 doesn't seem to notice the extra rolling diameter either, but fuel usage seems to have crept just a tad, though perhaps only 5-6% which is acounted for in the change in diameter and hence distance travelled now anyway.
So very happy.

I have 256/70/17's AT2 fitted and I get rubbing on that protruding part of the arch liner. Reading this thread I am less concerned than I was about this. Does a hole in the liner let water into where water should not be? I suspect not.
So I will relax, let it rub and wait for the hole to appear and the noise to stop..

Unnecessary quote removed
Is it only at normal height this occurs?
I.e. if you were off road with the vehicle raised does it stop? '05 D3 HSE, Logic 7, fridge, 4x4info, and more to come!

Yes they only rub on deflection over bumps etc, at normal height. Rubbing less now as the plastic ridge wears away
Putting road wheels on again tomorrow for a tin tent trip.
Has anyone installed 285/55R18s on their Disco3?
This is the tyre upgrade I was planning............ sure, they're road biased but I don't go off road enough to justify much else........... (read: whipped by the better half) "Off-road tyres are too noisy!" apparently.
Yes, I have 285/55R18 tyres.
The only problem is 18 inch OEM rim is too tight for them: I'm waiting new Blindo Wheels 18x9 in next months.
